WAMES Poster Session

Date & Information

  • Date: Friday, April 10, 2026
  • Location: FUSE Building, Rooms 1311 & 1312
  • Set-up: Presenters must bring and set up their posters between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Presenters are also responsible for removing their posters after the session. Posters not removed by 6:15 p.m. will be discarded.
  • Event Time: Presenters will present their posters during the reception on Day 1 of WAMES. The time block will be 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

 

Eligibility

  • The research presented must be original work from the presenter.
  • The presenter must be the primary researcher for their particular poster topic.
  • If relevant, the presenter must have permission from their project/research advisor(s) to publicly share their results. 

 

Registration for the Poster Session

  • Register to present in the WAMES Poster Session by submitting the Registration Form before Friday, February 6. An abstract is required at the time of registration (250 words maximum).

 

Poster Guidelines

Posters should be landscape orientation and CANNOT exceed 48 inches x 36 inches (4 feet by 3 feet). Posters that exceed those measurements will not be eligible to participate on the day of the event. To ensure your poster is the correct size if working in Microsoft PowerPoint:

  1. Open a new file in Microsoft PowerPoint
  2. Select Design from the toolbar at the top of the screen
  3. Select Slide Size and Custom Slide Size found on the drop-down menu
  4. Ensure that your Slide Size is set up like the image below, then select OK to begin designing your poster.

 

Poster Printing Guidelines

Presenters are responsible for any fees or payments incurred on poster printing.

Below are some resources for GMU students and faculty:

  • At Fenwick Library, Research Poster Printing (RPP) offers free wide-format printing for academic purposes as well as research poster design consultations for George Mason University students, staff, and faculty.
